The Paddlers Skill Levels

We have different classes of rivers for difficulty, but how do we distinguish between different classes of paddlers? We've tried to classify the different types of aptitudes paddlers should have, what do you think? Please Contact Us!!!
  • WATER APTITUDE (WA)
  • PADDLING APTITUDE (PA)
  • EQUIPMENT APTITUDE (EA)
  • RIVER APTITUDE (RA)
  • TEAM APTITUDE (TA)
  • SAFETY APTITUDE (SA)

Classes of Paddlers by Aptitudes

How do we define a Class V boating group:
Core group capable of running Class V rivers, with distinction.
We know there are many more out there, please let us know.

NOTE: Experienced Class V boaters know to use equipment rated for Class V. Do NOT use anything less, nor should you use equipment which is marginal. It could cost you a life or serious injury, Class V water requires the best equipment and it's likely that is the margin that makes the difference between a successful trip or a disastrous one.

RAFTWEB Dedication

This RAFTWEB is dedicated to the best boaters in the world who regularly challenge the X-Stream of Whitewater Undertakings on the most difficult rivers on Earth!
